SCC-CC Presidents’ Meeting Successfully Held

Dr. Peng Zhenyun - SCC President connected with Dr. Craig Stephenson - Centennial College President via video meeting. Ms. Virginia Macchiavello, Ms. Jin Li, Ms. Zhang Li and Mr. Chen Jian joined the online meeting.

Some important items discussed in the Quarterly Business Meeting Review (QBMR) of SCC Board were briefly reviewed by both parties at the beginning of the meeting, such as construction of the Public Technology Training Platform (PTTP), development of SCC Industrial Internet Lab (IIL) and idea of establishing a Canadian higher education center on SCC campus. Dr. Peng Zhenyun said, currently the top priorities of the college were to promote internationalization as well as building IIL.

The national "fourteenth five-year plan" proposes to promote infrastructure construction across the country and build a modern infrastructure system that is complete, efficient, practical, intelligent, ecological, safe and reliable. Accelerate the construction of industrial Internet, big data center, etc.  As one of the five national training platforms selcted by the Industrial Internet Alliance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, SCC Industrial Internet Lab aims to provide a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for enterprises.

Dr. Peng Zhenyun then introduced Chinese-foreign Cooperation Symposium on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) which is scheduled in mid June, he also invited Dr. Craig Stephenson to participate in the event virtually and deliver a welcome speech. China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), as the supervisor of the Symposium, values highly of the event and shows great support to it. As the Vice Chairman of Commission on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Education, CEAIE, SCC is committed and dedicated to the development of Chinese-foreign Cooperation.

Dr. Craig Stephenson said he would be honored to be part of the national symposium organized by SCC and Centennial will continue to support SCC and provide quality Canadian education and services to Chinese students.
